Focus mk1 3dr changes (full respray soon!)

After digging through 1,300 pictures of my car I finally found some I was after. Going to keep this updated and turn it into a progress thread. Bought my car on 8th July 2008 from a garage called NEW ENGLAND MOTORS in Peterborough; Cambridgeshire. Here’s a picture of when I was just leaving the garage



A couple of months of having the car, I bought some window tint film from Motorserv and spent a day tinting my windows which I'm pleased with. Rear window went a bit creased so took it down to Charmeleon co in Wymbush and got it done for £60. Here is a picture after I had all the windows tinted.



I was then looking into finding a stereo that i could connect my ipod up to as i'm sick of having cd's all over the place. Soon looked around ebay and came across this alpine headunit. Brand new 2008. Paid £180 including postage



Just before Christmas I looked around for some alloys and came across these that were on a clearance for £350 with tyres. So I decided to order them. Below is a picture of when they we're first on the car (sorry about phone quality)

After that I decided to get the clear indicators and fit as they look alot better than the orange did.

Around March time I was looking around on ebay and noticed a ford dealing up in Great Yarmouth selling brand new mk1 focus engines on a clearance at £650. So took a drive with dad up in the van in rush hour to grab one. The next day I took to a garage down in Dunstable and got it fitted for £200. My other engine had done 108,000 miles and thought to myself. Can’t keep ragging this around as it’s done quite alot of miles for a petrol engine. Then had to run it in about 1,000 miles (took 3 days to do) Now I’ve just about hit 17,000miles on this engine so I know it’s full run in now. Will look into engine upgrades next summer. Here are a few pictures of the old engine coming out and the new one fitted.

Left it till summer time then decided I’d do something inside the car. Looked on a few forums of what people had done then decided on this. Not everyone’s cup of tea but it’s different.

Looked around ebay as I wanted some new headlights and came across these. £105 including postage. Was looking for some black ones but couldn’t find any.

Bought some tinted rear lights off a mate for £10 as he didn’t need.



My next upgrade is to get these fitted. 50mm Spax lowering springs

Had grey carpet in car and didn’t really like. So went down to a scrap yard and managed to get black carpet for £40. Here’s how it looks

Was time to change headlights as I wanted indicators in them. Bought a set of ST170 headlights on ebay.



After I had the headlights fitted it was time to get some light on the road. Looked around a few places and came across this HID conversion kit.



Added a couple of pictures after to show how bright they are. 8000k (white with a tint of blue) Hoping to go 12000k after I’ve had the car resprayed (pure blue)




Finally got a chance to pop down to the spray garage to get some progress pictures of the bodywork being done. Managed to get a few pictures along with the paint colour

Going facelift rear bumper (with bumpstrips) all colour coded lime green
Facelift front bumper along with splitter attached to it (all colour coded)
Not to sure what to do about side skirts. Might just keep standard ones i got at the moment as gotta watch the pennys
Soon to look into some kind of spoiler to

Hoping to look something on the lines of this by summer. Not to sure on black bonnet yet though (quick photoshop)

Finally took to garage to be resprayed. Said it would take a good week. Will get pictures up when i get back (Y)
